"The purpose of reading is to
get the information, feeling and understanding
the author is trying to convey"
It has been said that the way in which you were taught to read as a young child was either letter-by-letter, or at best word-by-word and out loud, so the teacher could help you to read correctly. Once you mastered this skill, you were then told to read silently to yourself. This is where your training STOPPED.
Since you can only hear one word at a time, you can only read one word at a time.
These techniques were great when you were first learning, but are highly ineffective today with the amount and speed at which information is available.
Have you noticed the amount of times that you become bogged down, spending a lot of time reading the same line over and over again - or the amount of times that you skipped to the bottom of the page, skipping backwards and forwards throughout the book and loosing your flow.
Multiple Reading Systems will assist you to un-learn the ineffective reading habits that you were taught, and teach you the worlds leading accelerated learning techniques in a simple to follow format that is easy to use.
Three Reading Habits that Slow You Down
1. You speak each word to yourself
2. You read only one word at a time
3. You backtrack
Accelerated reading is nothing new. It is a skill that has been around for centuries. Evelyn Wood discovered a technique for speed reading in the 1950's when she was studying at the University of Utah. US President Theodore Roosevelt read 2 to 3 books a day while in office.
At Multiple Reading Systems we have studied and located the largest variety of accelerated reading techniques and now you can learn all of these techniques that can have you reading at 800, 1000 even 5000+ words per minute simply by attending the "Reading for Results" workshop.
